I'm Jennifer, and I am the head writer at Maven Bride. I am actually the only writer, which made my climb up the corporate ladder here pretty easy. I am also a designer who loves beautiful events, decor, and anything creatively put together.
I believe that creating the ultimate celebration of who you are is not about a budget (large or small) or a trendy brand, it's about being creative and personalizing a day (or night) or project into something that you are excited to share with others, and in return, others are inspired by it.
Mavens want to educate, not sell.
A while back I read a book by Malcolm Gladwell called "Tipping Point". In the book he described 3 types of people: connectors, mavens and salesmen. I realized that I am a maven, the geeky person that amasses a vast store of knowledge and wants to share it with everyone.
Mavens are information specialists.
I am one of those people...constantly investigating something on the internet or reading a book about it. Whether it's the proper etiquette for wording an invitation or finding simple techie ways to share your wedding photos. I am perpetually curious about everything, and I enjoy sharing what I find.
As a newlywed myself, I understand the need to create the ultimate celebration as a couple, and all of the details that go into a wedding day. I also feel there are plenty of other events that can be celebrated, like a dinner party, new nail polish, or creatively designed decor. That's why Maven Bride covers so many different topics, because there are lots of reasons to celebrate!
There are so many talented people that make unique items, and offer personalized services, along with the brides and grooms who are able to evoke emotion with their own creativity. As a maven, I feel it is my job to share those unique and creative details with you!
